A menacing man with a bat in his hands, when Jack Clark was healthy, he was one of the best hitters in the game. He hit at least 20 homers in 11 different seasons, for five different teams. In 1987, he was the big gun in the Cardinals offense, helping the team to the pennant behind his 35 homers and 106 RBI, despite being pitched around more than anyone else in the game. His surly disposition was cited as the reason he bounced around late in his career, playing for three different teams in his last five years.
