The Cleveland Indians reject the Boston Red Sox’ offer of $1 million for star pitcher Herb Score. The hard-throwing left-hander won 20 games in 1956 and led the American League with 263 strikeouts. Unfortunately, Score will be struck by a batted ball early in 1957 and will win only 19 more games over the rest of his career.
