On October 26, 1934, the Boston Red Sox acquire shortstop Joe Cronin from the Washington Senators for Lyn Lary and an estimated $250,000. Cronin will hit .295 with 95 RBIs in 1935, the first of his 11 seasons as a Red Sox player. Recently married to Mildred Robertson‚ Clark Griffith's (the club owner) niece and adopted daughter‚ Cronin signed a 5-year contract with the Red Sox.
