Former catcher Tacks Latimer is pardeoned by Governor Meyer Cooper.  Latimer was serving a life sentence in the Ohio State Penitentiary for killing a fellow policeman in Xenia OH.  He was pardoned for his role in helping guards stop a prison break in 1926 and for his heroism inApril 1929 during  a fire that killed 322 inmates.  It was the worst disaster in Ohio penal history.
