The Boston Red Sox send pitchers Dutch Leonard and Ernie Shore and outfielder Duffy Lewis to the New York Yankees for pitchers Ray Caldwell and Slim Love, outfielder Frank Gilhooey, catcher Al Walters, and $15,000.

The Detroit Tigers had turned down a deal for Leonard on the 16th. The Boston Post reports that "it will take a lot to convince Boston fans that they got the best of this one."
