2nd Half Power Rankings

2nd Half Power Rankings

2nd Half Power Rankings

1. New York Yankees
Top 10 in ERA, most home runs in baseball and CC will return this week.

2. Texas Rangers

The highest team batting average in baseball to go along with potential MVP Josh Hamilton.

3. Washington Nationals
The most underrated pitching staff in baseball (lowest ERA in baseball)

4. Los Angeles Angels
Cy Young candidate Jered Weaver has been dominant this year.

5. Pittsburgh Pirates
Behind MVP Adrew McCutchen the Pirates held the top spot in the NL Central entering the break.

6. Los Angeles Dodgers
Matt Kemp and Andre Ethier just came off the DL.

7. Chicago White Sox
Since Youkilis came over the South Siders have a 10-4 record.

8. Cincinnati Reds
Joey Votto and Jay Bruce are having great seasons but the Reds need Scott Rolen to step his game up.

9. San Francisco Giants
Aside from Tim Lincecum, everything has gone according to plan for the Giants this year.

10. Atlanta Braves
Recent injuries to their shortstops forces the Braves to be in the market for a Bloomquist or Zack Cozart.

11. St. Louis Cardinals
The Cards offense is top 5 in runs, batting average, OBP, OPS and slugging.

12. New York Mets
Behind Cy Young candidate R.A. Dickey the Mets sit a few games above .500 right in the Wild Card hunt.

13. Baltimore Orioles
The O's have fallen of the pace recently but still sit in 2nd place in the AL East.

14. Detroit Tigers
Last year the Tigers were 45-41 at the break. This year they were 44-42.

15. Cleveland Indians
The Tribe has a great bullpen and if they get any production out of Carlos Santana in the 2nd half, look out.

16. Tampa Bay Rays
Pitching depth is the only thing keeping the Rays ahead of the Blue Jays and Red Sox.

17. Toronto Blue Jays
With a solid offense the Jays may look to sure up their pitching at the deadline. Ryan Dempster is a name that comes to mind.

18. Boston Red Sox
Carl Crawford and Jacoby Ellsbury are returning, but inconsistent pitching has been the story in Beantown this year.

19. Arizona Diamondbacks
Justin Upton is on the block. The asking price will be steep for one of the game's rising stars.

20. Oakland Athletics
They were .500 at the break mostly due to a pitching staff that is top 5 in ERA.

21. Miami Marlins
Giancarlo Stanton will be out about 6 weeks. Will Christian Yelich get called up now?

22. Milwaukee Brewers
It may be time to cut ties with Zack Greinke.

23. Philadelphia Phillies
I wouldn't be surprised if Victorino gets traded. It would essentially make room for Domonic Brown.

24. Minnesota Twins
They have the makings of a decent offense, it's just the pitching (2nd highest ERA in MLB).

25. Kansas City Royals
70 home runs as a team this year is the 4th lowest total in baseball. Mike Moustakas and Billy Butler have 16 each.

26. Seattle Mariners
The M's have the second lowest team batting average (.229).

27. Houston Astros
Some key pieces have emerged but the fire sell is underway. First Carlos Lee, next Wandy Rodriguez?

28. San Diego Padres
Their best player, Chase Headley, should be traded. The Diamondbacks are in search for a corner infielder.

29. Colorado Rockies
Carlos Gonzalez deserves some MVP votes.

30. Chicago Cubs
Fixing the Cubs may be the most difficult task in all of baseball.
