Agents Predict Darvish's Posting Fee, Contract

MLBTR takes a look at Nippon-Ham Fighters ace, Yu Darvish, and how much money he is expected to get.

Five years ago,  we saw the Red Sox drop $103,111,111 on Daisuke Matsuzaka. $51,111,111 as a posting fee and a six-year, $52MM contract. We also saw  the Athletics win the right to negotiate with Hisashi Iwakuma for $19.1MM last year, but the Rakuten Golden Eagles had to return the posting fee when the A's were unable to reach an agreement.

I have also seen that the Yankees will certainly be in play for Darvish.

I'm skeptical on Darvish. We've seen Japanese hitters come over and continue success, Ichiro and Matsui come to mind, but pitchers haven't been as successful, Matsuzaka and kei Igawa are prime examples.  However, I'm interested to see how it all plays out.  Darvish is still young, so he will have time to adapt to MLB.
