Good News: Polanco Takes Batting Practice

"Placido Polanco stepped to the plate and swung the bat Thursday for the first time since spraining his left ring finger last Saturday, and while he admitted there was still a bit of soreness, he could be back in the lineup within the next few days.

"I'm really close," Polanco said. "I was able to hit and didn't feel too bad."

The swelling has gone down and the finger is no longer visibly bruised, but Polanco said there was still a moderate amount of pain when he swung."
