Harry Hempstead Biography by The Baseball Page

Harry Newton Hempstead

    * Born 1869
    * Died March 26, 1938 in New York, NY USA
    * School Lafayette

Harry Hempstead was the son-in-law of John Brush. Hempstead worked for Brush in Indianapolis for several years, and upon Brush's death in 1912, Hempstead became president of the New York Giants. He stayed with the Giants until the team was sold to Charles Stoneham in 1919.

He graduated from Lafayette University in 1891.
