Phillies 3B Prospect Franco's big second half giving Phils hope for the future.

Phillies top 3B prospect Maikel Franco started slow with Low-A Lakewood, but has really picked it up  since July 1st.  Franco is currently hitting .252 with 11 HR  65 RBI .311 OBP .394 .705 OPS.  In July his numbers were .327 AVG 4 HR 22 RBI .389 OBP .496 SLG .884 OPS.  Franco's pre-All-Star(64 Games) numbers were .207 AVG 6 HR 27 RBI  .269 OBP .338 .607 OPS and his post-All-Star(43 Games) numbers are .311 AVG 5 HR 38 RBI .370 OBP .476 SLG .875 OPS.  It's good news for the Phillies that their 3B of the future is showing signs of life even if he is still years away at nearly 20 years old (he will be 20 on August 26).  Look for Franco to start 2013 with high-A Clearwater and with a fast start potentially finish 2013 with Double-A Reading.  Franco is currently the Phillies number 10 prospect according to John Sickels, and Baseball Prospectus(subscription required), andBaseball America(subscription required).  http://www.hardballmadness.com
