Do you wish to practice an American accent? Are you looking for some tips on how to undertake it? If so, read on, since you are in the absolute right place. This article is for many who want to take action. I'm going to teach you three simple tips that may help you work on your accent. Here they are!

1. Travel

Travel broadens your brain, and in addition it helps you learn a language and use your accent. Go to the United States or Canada to immerse yourself in American English and exercise your American accent daily. The key is to communicate only in this language and continue to practice at each opportunity as well as only with native speakers (you can make some friends on Couchsurfing and visit them).

2. Speak online

If you can not travel, have friends online and employ with them on Skype. It's also a great way to develop your speaking skills and for free. Just join a few language exchange sites and send messages to Americans who want to learn your mother tongue to acquire a conversation in English.

3. Read aloud

Read something (of course written in English) aloud and record yourself (audio or video) while doing the work. And then try to assess your accent - look for pronunciation mistakes, issues that are difficult to pronounce, wrong intonation, rhythm etc. And then try to eliminate these mistakes!

That's the best way to practice an American accent. The key is to rehearse often (on a regular basis!) and do the right things (see the tips above!). Good luck and have fun while practicing your American accent.
