Red Sox interested in Papi and Pap

Boston.com reports that "Cherington wants to keep David Ortiz and Jonathan Papelbon, saying the Red Sox would be a better team if they stayed. He seemed optimistic regarding Ortiz, less so with Papelbon."

Ortiz has a limited market being a DH, and he would have a smaller contract.  Papelbon has been looking forward to free agency for years now.  Both are type A free agents, so both could bring in draft picks if they walk away.  If I were the Red Sox, I'd let them both walk and get the drafts picks and search the free agent market.
