"The Yankees rotation competition began getting serious Sunday night, as Ivan Nova took the mound for his fourth start of the spring.

Nova gave up four runs to the Orioles in the first inning and one in the second before settling down with two scoreless innings to end his night.

"The first two innings, he had no rhythm, Joe Girardi said. "The last two innings, he had great rhythm, he was working quick and he looked very good to me.

Nova, who gave up home runs to Adam Jones and Matt Wieters in the opening frame, said he felt great on the mound, but threw third-string catcher Gustavo Molina under the bus for a lack of communication."
