J. Louis Comiskey

John Louis Comiskey * Born 1885 in Dubuque, IA USA * Died July 18, 1939 in Eagle River, WI USA

The son of Chicago White Sox founder Charles Comiskey, John Louis Comiskey was stricken with scarlet fever at age 27 and was plagued by illness for the rest of his life. He inherited ownership of club when his father died in 1931, and under his leadership, the club purchased the contracts of Al Simmons, Mule Haas, and Jimmie Dykes after the 1932 season.

Comiskey owned the team until his death in 1939, and ownership of the club passed on to his widow Grace. His children Dorothy and Chuck would also later run the club.
