Just Missed the Cut: Wes Ferrell ... A staunch competitior with an explosive temper, Wes Ferrell won 20 games six times in his 15-year career, four times for Cleveland. He was the best hitting pitcher in the history of the game, belting a record 38 home runs, and batting .280. The brother of Hall of Fame shortstop Joe Sewell (honorable mention at shortstop for the Tribe), Ferrell is one of the best pitchers not in the Hall of Fame.
