Felipe Alou
In a lifetime in baseball, Felipe Alou has been a heralded prospect, an All-Star outfielder, a World Series hero, a coach, and a manager. he played in the Giants outfield with his two brothers, and managed his son, also an All-Star outfielder. In 2003, he returned to San Francisco tomange the club that he made his major league debut with 45 years earlier. His playing career is often overlooked, but he was very good, batting .300 three times, and .286 for his 17-year career. he hit 20 homers four times, and drove in 98 runs for the pennant-winning '62 Giants.

In his first season in Atlanta, Felipe took advantage of the cozy ballpark, as he slugged a career-high 31 homers. Primarily batting leadoff, he also banged out 218 hits and scored 122 runs. His younger brother, Matty, won the NL batting title.

Alou is the elder of baseball's "royal family," with two of his brothers: Matty and Jesus also having played pro ball, and played very well and for a long time. His cousin, Jose Sosa, was a pitcher for Houston in the 1970s, his nephew Mel Rojas, pitched for him in Montrealin the 1990s, and his son, Moises, was a six-time All-Star, and also played for Felipe.
