Moises Alou
With an excellent pedigree, Moises Alou became an All-Star left fielder. The son of Felipe Alou, and nephew of Jesus and Matty Alou, Moises also had two cousins who played big league baseball. In 1992 he finished second in NL Rookie of the Year voting with Montreal, for whom he played for parts of six seasons. With Florida as a free agent in 1997, Alou drove in 115 runs during the regular season and nine big runs in the World Series as the Marlins won the championship. He was shipped away in 1998, but prospered in Houston, slugging 38 homers and finishing third in MVP voting behind the homer heroes - Sammy Sosa and Mark McGwire. He joined his father in the 2000-hit club in 2006, when Felipe managed him with the Giants.
