The Murder of Robert A. Baird
On April 5, 1974, Baird was shot by a woman in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Apparently the two were having a quarrel when the woman grabbed an gun and shot Baird twice at close range. He lingered for a few days before dying on the 11th.
