Hank Bauer
Hank Bauer was the gritty leadoff man for the New York Yankees, helping them to nine pennants and seven World Series titles in his first ten full seasons. As a Marine in World War II he fought at Guadalcanal and earned two Bronze Star medals. He later managed the Baltimore Orioles to their first World Series title, in 1966.
