Jay Bell
The 8th pick overall in the 1984 Amateur Draft, bespectacled Jay Bell used his quick feet to become an excellent middle infielder in the major leagues. Late in his career he added muscle and pulled the ball effectively, slugging as many as 38 homers in a season. Though he was awarded just one Gold Glove, he had superlative range and was fundamentally sound at shortstop and second base. He ended his career after 18 seasons, with nearly 2,000 hits and just under 200 homers.
