Mark Buehrle
An All-Star left-hander, Mark Buehrle used good control and a sinking fastball to become a consistent winner for the Chicago White Sox in the early 2000s. A 38th round draft pick, he won 16 games three times, and 19 games in 2002. He hurled a complete game, 2-1 victory over the Angels in Game Two of the 2005 American League Championship Series, and was a key part of the White Sox talented starting rotation that led the club to their first World Series title in 88 years. A workhorse, through 2006 the southpaw had hurled at least 200 innings in six straight seasons.

Buehrle led the White Sox staff with a 3.12 ERA and also in innings pitched. His 2-1 win in Game Two of the ALCS started the team's roll to the World Series title. He was selected to the All-Star Game for the second time.
