George Burns
In a classic slap in the face, the Cleveland Indians traded first baseman George Burns away in the off-season after he delivered the game-winning hit in Game Seven of the 1920 World Series. In 16 seasons spent in the American League with five different teams, "Tioga George" hit .307, but it was a quiet .307 most of the time. He was never the best hitter in the lineup, but he did win the 1926 AL Most Valuable Player Award, when he drove in 114 runs.
