Rich Dauer

Played For
Baltimore Orioles (1976-1985)

Scouting Report
"When Dauer is at his best, he hits to all fields and is extremely aggressive… He likes the ball up and towards the inside half of the plate… Because he makes contact, he is frequently asked to hit-and-run, and he can and does make contact to right field when he is asked to do so…Why he doesn't hit the same way without men on base is anybody's guess… His range is average but he compensates for it with all out aggressive play, frequently diving headlong for balls hit to either side." — from the 1984 Scouting Report
