Jim Delahanty

Though he was four years younger than his brother Joe, Jim Delahanty made it to the big leagues six years earlier. A versatile player, Jim saw action in the outfield, at first, second, and third in his career. His older brother, Ed made it to the Hall of Fame, but Jim enjoyed a fibne career as well, putting in 13 seasons in the majors. He was acquired by the Tigers in the midst of the 1909 season to play second base, and his performance helped Detroit into the World Series, where Jim hit .346 with nine hits in seven games.
