June 22, 1958 ... As an 18-year old prospect in 1958, Ellsworth made his debut against big league hitters in the annual midsummer exhibition game between the Cubs and White Sox, at Comiskey Park. Ellsworth walked four batters in the first two innings, but settled down and won the game, 1-0, allowing just four hits against the Sox.
