Alex Gonzalez

A fluid shortstop with good range and a strong arm, Alex Gonzalez had his moment in the sun in Game Four of the 2003 World Series. Not known for his slugging, Gonzalez's walk-off home run won that game against the Yankees. Gonzalez also scored the winning run for his native Venezuela in the 2006 Caribbean Series, a moment he called the greatest in his life.

Quotes About Gonzalez
"Alex has God-given ability and works very hard, but the other thing he does, is that when he does not get hits, he does not take his at-bats to the field with him. For some guys, it's hard to separate it, but it's not for Alex." — Terry Francona
