  • Anonymous said: Actually, Horton signed with Portland of the PCL after the 1980 season. The Beavers were a Pittsburgh Pirate affiliate and there was some thought that Horton would be added to the big league club following the player's strike that summer, but as Horton was a DH, and the only possible place he might have played was first base, a position where the Pirates were getting adequate production from Jason Thompson and backed up by Willie Stargell and Willie Montanez, the promotion never came. 10:44PM 12/02/11
