Feats
On September 10, 1977, the Blue Jays, an expansion team, defeated the defending league champion Yankees by a lopsided score of 19-3. The game was played in Yankee Stadium, and Roy Howell gave the performance of his career. In the first inning, facing Catfish Hunter, Howell stroked an RBI-double. In the third inning, Howell belted a solo homer off Hunter. In the sixth, Howell delivered two more runs on a single, and in the seventh he belted a three-run homer. Finally, in the ninth inning, he banged out a two-run double and later scored the 19th and final run of the game. Howell had went 5-for-6 with nine RBI and four runs scored. He had accumulated 20% of his seasons RBI (nine of 44) in one game. It was one of the most lopsided losses for a team (the Yankees) in a season in which they eventually won a World Series.
