  • Anonymous said: I mowed his grass a few times as a kid. i played baseball myself and was a pitcher. 2 things i remember are he was proud of what he had accomplished, he showed me old newspaper clippings, one said "Lanning strikes out gas house gang" . i didn't know who that was at the time but i do now and he did then. i also remember he didn't kid around too much , always pretty serious. it's a shame we let these people slip through our lives with out having the knowledge of who they really were.45 years later i wish i had been more curious.
