Jo-Jo Moore
As the left fielder for the New York Giants in the 1930s and leading up to the start of World War II, Jo-Jo Moore was a six-time All-Star. A leadoff hitter, Moore was known for hacking at the first pitch, a strategy he employed to hit .300 five times and reach 200 hits twice. 32 years old when the War broke out in 1941, the Texan never played baseball again after entering the military.

Best Strength as a Player
Putting the ball in play, and defense in left field.
Largest Weakness as a Player
When he didn't hit for a high average (1933 for example, when he batted .292 and had a .323 OBP), he posted subpar on-base percentages because he didn't walk much for a leadoff batter.
