Notes
On September 7, 1977, Bobby Bonds was hit in the head by the throw from the catcher as he tried to steal third base, in a game between his Angels and the Brewers. Bonds was injured and had to be helped from the field. The throw bounced off his helmet and landed in the stands, but since Bonds could not score the run, a pinch-runner was needed to complete the strange play. Gary Nolan was that pinch-runner.
