A tall, handsome left-hander, Andy Pettitte was an important member of the Yankee dynasty which won four World Series titles in five seasons from 1996-2000. Glaring out from under the brim of his cap, he won 21 games twice, and stared down enemy batters for 13 post-season victories. In 2008, Pettitte admitted to using steroids at one point in his career, and also implicated his close friend Roger Clemens of doing the same.
Six times, Andy Pettitte won at least two games in the post-season for the Yankees (1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2003).
In each of Andy Pettitte's first nine seasons with the New York Yankees, the team advanced to the post-season.
Consistency and ability to rise to the occasion.
