Henry Schmidt
A succesful pitcher in the Pacific Coast League, Texan Henry Schmidt was signed by Ned Hanlon and won 21 games for Brooklyn in 1903. But it proved to be his only season in the majors, when he returned his 1904 contract unsigned, because he did not like the east coast. He returned to California and later Tennessee, where he coached baseball.
