Intro

On June 27, 1977, Ron Guidry of the Yankees was cruising along with a no-hitter into the fifth inning. Then, the ace lefty walked three straight Blue Jays' batters to load the bases. Hector Torres came to the plate and swatted a home run - the first grand slam in Toronto franchise history. In his ninth (and final) season as primarily a utility infielder, it was one of just 18 homers that Torres hit in his career.

Factoid 1

In 1958, Hector Torres pitched a three-hitter to win the Little League World Series for the Monterrey, Mexico, team.
