Harry Wright
Harry Wright did as much to establish baseball as a viable professional sport as anyone in history. His strong personality, professional demeanor, and organizational skills helped formulate the early professional leagues in the 1870s. Wright managed for a quarter of a century, all before 1900, and six times his teams finished as league champions. He and his brother George, a batter player than Harry, were both inducted into the Hall of Fame.
