Sam Wright
The lesser-known brother of Hall of Famers George and Harry, Sam Wright was a more casual baseball player than his siblings. A shortstop, he played for the New Haven Elm Citys in their only season in the National Association. His dreadful .189 batting average and 40 errors in 33 games, had much to do with the team's 7-40 record. Sam played his final professional game when brother Harry inserted him into the lineup as a favor, with the Boston Red Caps in 1881.
