Notes
York was famous for getting himself into sticky situations. On more than one occasion, he found himself locked out of his room when he missed curfew and had to find a sleeping spot in the lobby, the hallway, or once in St. Louis, in a park. He also set several fires in hotels, seemingly by accident. He commented once that a fire in Boston's Myles Standish started in his room because "Some guy upstairs must have been smoking a cigarette and... threw it out the window and it blew in my window and set it on fire."
